However I'm not going to surf the web from Windows Explorer. Is there a way to tell ZoneAlarm that I really meant it when I told it to Ask before allowing access ? . Then open up ZA and find the entry for Windows Explorer, right click on it, and deny it for everything, i.e., internet, local, server, etc.THEN go find your entry for Internet I did succeed in cracking my programs and immediately uninstalled the ZA, and IE came right up.
As long as you have a basically good firewall that you can configure easier than the Windows firewall then that's fine. Theoretically ZoneAlarm does the same thing in the Privacy section where all web sites are stored and can be edited to allow pop-ups, scripts and cookies. Several functions may not work. What's there? They answer within 24 hours if you hurry and do it before the weekend.I've posted the problem on the ZoneAlarm Forum today, and I'll see what responses I'll get.

Also I copied ZLDIR/zlclient.exe straight from the ZoneAlarm logs.I checked the file path for zlclient.exe and it is in the ZoneAlarm folder. ZA then asked me if I wanted to allow "Windows Explorer" to access the Internet, I sayed no and I could not browse anything. The one and only suggestion I'd have to make or test at the least is zip all files in that folder, e.g.; .exe, .url, etc., files that could possible make explorer.exe

How about you quote one line from the log, and also do you have C:\Program Files\ZoneLabs\ZoneAlarm with 7 executables in that directory (if Suite).
