Maybe I'm not smart enough to do this!!! I didn't rename, just moved old SyncServices to desktop, but the outcome was the same: iTunnes rebuilt the folder with new data and the problem is gone!

BTW, for anyone with this problem that is hesitant to delete and re-install iTunes, the method I used (see link) preserved everything, ie. I don't know what Xcode is, but I'm fairly sure I don't have it. • Some sites mention having more than 1 user logged in as being a cause. But don't worry, all your data will stay intact.
