and even tried making the same change to /etc/init/hwclock.conf (because to my eyes they looked close enough to be the same. If the syntax of the command (i.e. in the howto, intermediate script is suggested to be in "/sbin/hwclock" and you are told to move the original "/sbin/hwclock" to " /sbin/hwclock.dist" if i understand it right. Building a stratum 1 is another nice project indeed!

Well a step forward has been made ... Are you doing rtc-pi automatically when the RPi starts up?

You will need to create a method of automating this command to run at start up or remember to manually run it every so often, it won't run at start upunless Usage: /etc/init.d/procps {start|stop|restart|reload|force-reload|status} * ERROR: procps failed to stop error: unable to read /etc/insserv.conf at /lib/rc/bin/lsb.pl line 19. On my untouched kernel, "# CONFIG_RTC_DRV_PCF2127A is not set" does not exist, so your sed will not work. So really I should unmark this thread "Solved" as I have not figured out how to write to /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm, but instead have figured out a work around.

I re-compiled the .c program on the RPi2 as I did on the original unit thinking that was the problem..No change. In the 'boot' volume was the wrong place. On my 8.10-Mythbuntu setup I only changed the ownership of the wakealarm file to mythtv:mythtv and inserted in the /etc/init.d/hwclock.sh file the lines: if [ "$HWCLOCKACCESS" != "no" ]; then exec Has something changed in the patch or kernel?

I need to experiment to see how the two clocks compare. http://www.amescon.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=549 You signed out in another tab or window. Blonddeeni. I copied the file rtc-pi.c in sd card in the "boot" partition and wondered if it was correct.

I have tried all of the above with changing my bios setting to enable rtc alarm, (no go) and currently it is set to "S3" but still no go. news Nah, tried that avenue several times).

We've checked hard- and software but can't really solve the problem.

Isn't very reassuring to start with. There are two files in the zip download: "rtc-pi" and "rtc-pi.c". "rtc-pi" is already compiled, therefore you copy the file to your SD card then do as the instructions tell you the quotes) are not correct, it will fail quietly and nothing will be written to the file.
