So assuming the printer functions ok, and assuming the USB hardware on the PC functions ok, then IMHO either this is a bug, or there is a misconfiguration. Perhaps start avahi-daemon would work for me, but this is beyond my current skill set. It keeps getting a communication error 5012 when I open HP manager.
